CTP Builds Fast, Stable Web App with Nitobi’s Help’

When a large division of the Department of Defense (DoD) hired Corporate Technology Partners to build a web application, CTP looked for fast, simple solutions to help them deliver a robust web application as quickly as possible. The project required CTP to implement functionality from an existing, rich desktop application to a new web framework. Not only did the web app need to run quickly on DoD’s massive intranet, it was critical that the users like the new web application and not find it hard to switch from the client-server version.

Corporate Technology Partners used Nitobi Grid to integrate a data grid into the web application and contracted Nitobi to customize the component. Nitobi Grid allowed CTP to immediately and effortlessly ‘plug in’ a rich, production-ready grid into the web application. With Nitobi Grid, CTP added sophisticated Excel-style grid actions to the application like column resizing, sorting, column freezing and copy and paste. Nitobi’s Grid makes up the bulk of many of the application screens.

“Any attempt to custom build a grid component would likely result in a lengthy development process and a far less stable end product with little to no documentation,” said David Huffman, Senior Developer.
