Ruby is the simple, yet powerful programming language that has quickly become a developer favorite for rapid application development. Ruby-based, rich internet applications are more popular than ever and are becoming the norm for data-driven websites.
Rich internet application development is our specialty, so developing in Ruby, Rails and Merb is second nature at Nitobi. Nitobi has been deploying (and sometimes rescuing) Ruby on Rails applications since the early days of the now mature framework. We’ve used Ruby for small start up apps, our own projects and have even completed Rails projects with large enterprise companies, like Cisco.
We’re very enthusiastic about the future of Merb. It’s a new web framework designed for high-traffic web apps, or applications integrated with legacy software and databases. We’re so excited about Merb we sponsored the first MerbCamp in Oct 2008 and sent our four best Ruby specialists down to San Diego to help complete the final sprint for Merb 1.0.
