Want a FREE Nitobi license? Find our Webslices!
March 26th, 2008
One of the neat new features in the Internet Explorer 8 Beta are Webslices. This is a special tag in your HTML that lets Explorer “subscribe” to that section of your page, and notify a user as it changes. It’s like an RSS feed, but you can easily make non-rss content subscribable in this way.
To participate:
- Get the Internet Explorer 8 Beta.
- Visit our site and peripheral sites (knowledgebase, blogs, forums, and the like)
- Discover the 5 webslices and post a comment on this blog post describing where to find each one.
- The first person to do this will get a free 1-seat license for CompleteUI!
At the moment there are exactly 5 of these in total, and they’re not hard to spot so this is a gimme.

OK, finally decided to try IE 8.
The webslices are easy to identify and easy to use. Foud the following on the Nitobi home page:
KnNitobi Knowledgebase, Nitobi Forums, Nitobi Blogs, Nitobi News and Events and the last one appears to be the Site RSS feed at the bottom of the page.
It looks like an easy way to keep up-to-date!

(In IE8, the web-slices appear as two circles in a purple square indicating the feed. )

Sorry Digger, the RSS feed does not count so you’re missing 1 webslice! I’ll give you a hint – it’s not on our home page. Also include the satellite sites in your search (forums, blogs, support center, etc)
Contest still open!
