Google Maps – Hybrid – Finally
August 5th, 2005
Google now overlays mapping data over the satellite images. Very cool. The satellite images were cool before but not really that usesful in my opinion. Using the maps and images together provides more familiar information to the end user, making it a more usable tool. I wouldn’t be surprised if this becomes the default view for most users. This is a really neat example of using AJAX (and some other cool web technologies) to improve the user experience.
Come and find me:Google Maps – 2030 Marine Drive North, Vancouver.
My blogs have been a bit sparse recently. Coming up soon are my notes from the WebVisions 2005 conference and lots more on AJAX, usability and the business benefits of RIA.
