Ski Condtions + Google Maps Mashup!
October 19th, 2005
Snow-Forecast.com just put up a cool mashup of their snow condition and weather forecasting by region and google maps us using EZ Maps. I love snow-forecast.com and use their forecasting and weather service in my never ending search for better skiing.

I find snow-forecast to be both complicated and very un-userfriendly. I want snow details not freezing levels! If i could decifer their maps then I would be a geography graduate not an advertising exectutive just looking to gain a long weekend skiing in france via the snow train!
Rubbish

Hi Jonny,
I was just pointing to the mashup of their weather maps and Google Maps http://www.snow-forecast.com/index2_google.shtml. I thought it was pretty cool. It’s changed a bit now though, but before you could mouse over a location and then a weather map would come up and show you a color overlaid graph indicating where the most snow is forecast to fall in the next 24hrs. It’s also handy to know freezing levels, wind and weather. This information combined can give you a good indication of the current snow conditions…all I really care about is powder anyway. But I do agree that the site does lack in usability and it would be nice to just click the “book me a complete trip to the closest place with the best snow button” Thanks for your comment!
Andre.

Here’s one I’ve been working on for ski info on a google map. You can view and sort resorts based on current snow, expected snow, terrain type, etc…
