| In version 3.22, the data rows are scrolling into the frozen columns. |

I am seeing the same issue in IE 6. Do you have an estimate on when the fix will be available? Thanks.

Hello all,
There tiny bug in nitobi.grid.css that causes frozen column background to be transparent.
Steps to fix:
open nitobi.grid.css
search the .ebaleftpane CSS class then add missing semicolon to the background property.
you should have this line:
background:#F7F7F7;
Let me know if there is a problem.
Thanks,
-Agus. |

Hi Agus,
Yes well i'm having the same problem in FF, even though a semi-colon is present.
This is the line of code in the CSS: 'background-color:#F7F7F7;'
The frozen columns disappear when clicked on and re-appear when scrolled horizontally, making it impossible to enter data in frozen column cells.
Please suggest a solution for this ASAP.
Thanks,
Adil

Hi Adil,
I'm sure you've checked and this suggestion will turn out to be very silly, but did you change the right nitobi.grid.css? There are at least two styles that ship with Grid 3.22 so I thought maybe it was possible you made the right fix to the wrong stylesheet... |

Hi Mike,
Thanks for the quick turnaround. Well firstly i'm using V3.23 and i'm assuming the missing semicolon was added in this version because it was there for both the CSS files.
And since i'm using 'styles/lightblue/nitobi.grid.css', this is the one i verified initially.
Any other ideas?! Because we require the frozen column feature and this is making the grid unusable in FF.
Thanks,
Adil

Hi Adil,
I can't say for certain what the cause could be at the moment; my attempts to recreate the issue have not been successful. Would it be possible for you to post your grid declaration so I can take a look? |

Hi Mike,
Below is the grid declaration. Just to re-mention that this frozen column issue occurs only when using Firefox browser.
<ntb:grid
id="blockGrid"
mode="nonpaging"
gethandler="jsp/productspecs/blockEBAGetXml.jsp?compression=false"
savehandler="jsp/productspecs/blockEBASaveXml.jsp"
onerrorevent="errorHandler()"
onbeforesaveevent="showWaitMsg();onBeforeSave()"
onaftersaveevent="onAfterSave()"
onbeforepasteevent="onBeforePaste()"
onafterpasteevent="setTimeout('onAfterPaste()', 100);"
onafterrowinsertevent = "setTimeoutAction('insert');"
onafterrowdeleteevent = "setTimeoutAction('delete');"
onbeforecelleditevent="onBeforeCellEdit(eventArgs)"
onaftersortevent="onAfterSort();"
ondatareadyevent="onDataReady();"
width="1200" height="350"
frozenleftcolumncount="3"
toolbarenabled="true">
Please reply ASAP.
Thanks,
Adil

Hi Adil,
I used your Grid declaration to test the issue, but I managed to get the frozen columns to render properly. Of course, I had to abbreviate the declaration because I don't how you've implemented your event handlers.
For the sake of testing, could you try rendering the grid without the event handlers in the grid declaration? I doubt they would be the culprit, but I think it's worth trying, if only to eliminate a possible cause.
Also, how many columns are being rendered in total? |

Hi Mike,
Around 30 columns are being rendered. And as for your suggestion, i rendered the grid after removing the event handlers from the declaration but no help. The frozen columns still disappear when clicked on and re-appear when scrolled (in FF that is).
BTW i don't believe this has got to do anything with the event handlers. The frozen columns don't even render properly (they come out blank on init). So this seems to be more of a styling issue.
Need more suggestions.
Thanks,
Adil

Hi Adil,
There is a problem currently in Grid when you have more than 25 columns declared. This will be fixed for the forthcoming release this week.
How do the frozen columns work when you have fewer than 25 columns? |

Hi Mike,
What's being released this week? V3.4? And when exactly in the week? I'm asking this since our release is just round the corner aswell, and we'll like to see as many grid fixes as possible.
Thanks,
Adil

I'm having the same problem, even when updated to V3.4.

I'm not sure what else to suggest. I cannot reproduce the bug. I'm using Grid 3.4 with 30 columns using the same grid declaration you provided above (minus the event handlers) and it works exactly as expected in both IE 6 and Firefox 2. Is your Grid using any custom styles? Maybe your page layout is affecting how the Grid is rendering?
Is there anyone else out there reading this that is having similar issues with using frozenleftcolumncount? |
