|
|
Been working a little with the Callout demo and have run into a few problems. Right now, I have a Clean callout displayed with a "Please Wait" while data is retrieved and the callout is refreshed once the data is retrieved.
Works good but have come up with a couple problems...
1. If the element that the callout will be attached to is near the top of the screen, the initial "Please Wait" displays above the element (looks fine)... but if the refreshed callout with data is quite long, the callout still tries to attach to above the element (causing the 'pointer' of the callout to be pointing much below the element).
Desired behaviour is that if it can't fit above the element, it should redraw itself below the element (as happens with scrolling the browser window).
2. In an effort to handle the above problem, I decided to try and break my resulting data into columns (using a <TABLE>). On the refreshed callout I can display two columns fine, but if there is three the text overruns the border of the callout and appears on the document body.
If anybody can suggest any methods to work around these issues, it would be appreciated.
Thanks! |

Hi quid246,
I'm not sure I fully understand your problem, especially with regards to point #2. As a fix/workaround to problem #1, you can specify where the callout 'tail' direction should be (top-left, bottom-right, etc.). You can have a look at this article for more information regarding that:
http://support.nitobi.com/?build=7054&product=all&type=art&a=10797
Also, I am fairly certain that the position of each callout is dependent on the positioning of the tail of the callout. Maybe it would be worth it to try different tail positions and seeing if the callout displays properly in such a way?
I will submit the positioning and large-text issues to our bug tracker, hopefully those will be addressed for the next release.
Best,
