Well to things in perspective:
“If a homeless person has a funny sign, he hasn’t been homeless that long…a REAL homeless person is too hungry to be funny.” – Chris Rock
A recent blog by Seth Godin caught my eye…it’s about ninjas, homeless people and the value of photos.

Google gets googled- and the cuts off access to CNET employees. I think every news agency and reporter around the world should run the same article and see how google reacts…

Kind of harsh maybe, but I had a good chuckle at this one.
Script as an Enterprise Technology – eWeek Article
August 11th, 2005
We were recently interviewd in ‘Scripted’ Development Answers an article by Peter Coffee of eWeek, the focus of the article was on the applications of script, mostly JavaScript, in enterprise scenarios. Peter did a good job of highlighting some of the challenges and pit falls of developing in script. He also explained the benefits of AJAX technology suite for developing web user interfaces. Alexei White, our Product Manager, was quoted several times around these subjects. Overall I came away with mixed feelings, one point that I don’t feel was clear enough was that without script we wouldn’t be able to build the high performance web interfaces that we’ve provided to enterprises such Goldman Sachs, Siemens, Fidelity and AOL Time Warner. It is however the core of our business model to take care of the all the ugliness of script, bundle it in easy to use components for the developers so that we can provide the best user experience possible for the end users.

AJAX – RIA mailing list
August 11th, 2005
Jonathan set up anAJAX – RIA mailing list – it’s becoming a good forum for discussion on AJAX, RIA, Flash, DHTML and the tools/technologies that are helping all of us create a better user experience on the web. I encourage anyone in this space to join the conversation.
Google Maps – Hybrid – Finally
August 5th, 2005
Google now overlays mapping data over the satellite images. Very cool. The satellite images were cool before but not really that usesful in my opinion. Using the maps and images together provides more familiar information to the end user, making it a more usable tool. I wouldn’t be surprised if this becomes the default view for most users. This is a really neat example of using AJAX (and some other cool web technologies) to improve the user experience.
Come and find me:Google Maps – 2030 Marine Drive North, Vancouver.
My blogs have been a bit sparse recently. Coming up soon are my notes from the WebVisions 2005 conference and lots more on AJAX, usability and the business benefits of RIA.
