How do I get the database samples to work?

Some of the included samples that ship with ComboBox and Grid come with an Access database. This should function under IIS, Linux, or Solaris just fine.

Databinding in Coldfusion MX is easy. Start by logging into the ColdFusion Administrator.

Depending on your version of Coldfusion, the Data and Services controls may appear in a different area of your admin tool. In Coldfusion 6 or 7 MX you want to select the Data Sources option under Data and Services.

Under Add New Data Source, type NitobiTestDB. Choose "Microsoft Access" under Driver.

Click "Add". This screen will appear:

Locate the database file by clicking "Browse Server" and navigating to the place where you put the sample. The database file should be in the "data" folder of the sample.

If necessary, type your Coldfusion Username and Password.

Click Submit.

The database should now appear under your Data Sources list.

One Additional Note

It's important that you set the security permissions on the database file. Right-click on the .mdb file in Windows and set the necessary security permissions.
